“Redemptive History has been so crucial to my understanding of the Bible. I now actually have the confidence that I understand the story of redemption intricately woven through the Bible. I used to open the Bible aimlessly and have zero context to what I was reading. This class has allowed me to open up the Bible to most sections and have actual context and understanding to the passages. I’ve found that with this understanding I can better share the gospel and answer people’s questions. Which was one of my aims, but more importantly I’m getting to know the heart of God. To know his character as my God.”
“Going through Redemptive History ended my era of confusion with the Bible. There were questions that hung in my mind, especially about the Old Testament, that caused me to hang back from fully following God. The course brought all the pieces masterfully together, and so clearly revealed the big picture, that it changed my entire life. Understanding God’s plan told in the Bible brought meaning to the death and resurrection of Jesus that I hadn’t seen before. It transformed my relationship with God — and put such a fire in me to spread this incredible true story, that it still burns twenty years later”
“Redemptive History is a comprehensive overview of the whole story in the Bible which shows the singular theme running throughout all of scripture. You will gain insight into the actions and characters in each epoch, how those fit into the singular metaplot, and God’s heart, intention, and desire overshadowing everything that happens between creation and the final wedding. Redemptive History gives the context so that no matter what you are reading you know exactly where in the story it lies”
“As an intern in Youthstorm from 2005-2007(possibly part of 2008)I was privileged to take this Redemptive History course. Right from the jump I learned of Gods plan for redeeming us starting in Genesis. In Genesis 3:15 to be exact. This is what scholars of theology call The Proto-Evangel. This is the first time God “preached the good news” after Adam disobeyed. Fast-forward to Genesis 15 Where God made a covenant with Abraham. In this covenant, God put Abraham to sleep and gave him a dream where there was slaughtered animals placed as such to make a walkway, and as God walked through He swore on Himself that if He broke his covenant with Abraham that He would become like those slaughtered animals. This is called the Suzerainty treaty. And in this is the exact manner of sacrifice Jesus made on the cross for us. You see folks, all throughout the Pentateuch, prophets ,and the psalms God has spoken of his redemptive nature . It was ALWAYS HIS PLAN to have us with Him. This course really highlights that and I will forever hold on to the knowledge I learned from this course. And as I journey to understand Him more I may take it again. I highly recommend taking it if you haven’t already.”
“The Redemptive History class I took earlier this year, was so insightful and powerful. The teaching opens up so much more of what the bible truly wants us to comprehend. You don’t need to like history to enjoy this class. But you will learn to love the whole bible. My kids seemed to enjoy the Old Testament growing up, and why not there’s some epic stories throughout it. But I also seem to notice that not too many adults, even evangelical Christians do not like the Old Testament. I think it could be partly because they see the former books in the bible as bad news and the New Testament as good news. But you will learn from the Old Testament in this class. You will see the obedience it demands is the obedience of faith in all God’s promises and his unmeasurable love for us. Redemptive History show us so much of why the bible isn’t two separate books, but the one whole truth of who God is. It reveals this thinking from the first lesson till the last lesson. You are taught to learn that the new covenant we live under today, as wonderful as it is, was given to us with a purpose so long ago. The lessons learned profited me immensely. The new covenant we now live under, makes the Old Testament the book of the Christian church in so many practical ways. Which I have never thought of before, understanding now what Redemptive History really is.”
Redemptive History helped me to see the entire bible as a continuous story of the relationship that God desires to have with His people. Previously I saw the scripture as a collection of disconnected books that was difficult to comprehend. It makes the Bible so much easier to read and understand.”

“Redemptive History taught me so much about God’s heart and intention toward humankind; His Creation. It helped put into deeper context His Story and how it unfolds in the pages of the Bible. It showcased to me how He is Our God and We Are His People. Though we may fall short and wander a thousand times over, His Hand, Story, and Heart toward us is nothing but Kind, Loving, and… Redemptive.”
“Raised in a Christian family, Redemptive History was life changing. It brought the whole picture of the Old and New Testament into a unified perspective and understanding. Previously my knowledge of Scripture was compartmentalized and lacking in understanding. Now I know how the “beginning through the end” is related, and that my God loves me and His people and desires to commune with us now and forever.”
“Redemptive History was a foundational step in understanding scripture on a whole. Prior to Redemptive History I had little understanding of the importance of what I was reading, but through this curriculum the character of God and the story He weaves was made clear.”
“Growing up a Christian, I always struggled to connect all the dots of scripture. I found myself gravitating towards New Testament passages that seemed clear on what I should and shouldn’t do and how I should and shouldn’t live. When I first went through redemptive history, I finally saw clearly the whole story of scripture. How things fit together, and what each part meant, finally made sense. And because of that, who Jesus is and what he did was so much more impactful! Since taking this class, my life trajectory has shifted; scripture has come so much more alive, God has been so much more real to me, and I have so much more vision for my life in the context of His story.”
“Redemptive History was the first class I took when I got saved, and it had a significant impact on my life. It established a love and knowledge of God by giving me an understanding of the story God tells through His word. When you know God, His love, and His plan for His people, it gives you confidence to live worthy of the Gospel. Redemptive History will build that foundation for you”

“Growing up I truly believed that the Bible was the infallible word of God. It was truth embodied and to be taken seriously and loved. The struggle I had was loving reading it… I loved the truths I found in it that applied to my life…truth that I didn’t have to be anxious…truth that I was saved by grace…truth that God was my only hope…truth that He is who He says He is… But…reading it was soo hard. It felt disconnected, disjointed and not entirely meaningful to me and my life. The Old Testament was full of stories; some of interest to me and some that seemed just so out of place. I desired to read and enjoy scripture, but throughout my childhood and teen years I found that I was doing it more out of obedience than joy. Then I met Steve and was invited to take Redemptive History. When I walked through the entirety of the scripture as seen through the eyes of this course it allowed me to see the cohesion and EPICNESS of the Bible as a whole for the first time. I finally saw how all the pieces fit together. And how I was invited to be a part of the story. My relationship with the Bible, and therefore the God of the Bible was forever changed after that. I saw that truth was woven throughout and that the whole picture made every random seeming story fit in perfectly. Not random at all. Knowing THAT God. The one that gave us an epic tale that spanned centuries and had me in mind as well…that’s forever changed my life. I am forever grateful to have been invited into the Redemptive History crash course.”
“I have taken Redemptive History twice! Each time I’ve continued to learn more and more about God’s Beautiful plan of redemption in history! Before taking my first class, I understood very little about the Old Testament; I believed in Jesus, and His resurrection, but didn’t really understand how the old and New Testament connected together. This class gave me the insight and understanding I was missing to piece together God’s redemptive plan from start to finish! Truly the best class I’ve EVER taken!!”
“I wish that I Had I taken the Redemptive History course back in 1999 when I 1st hopped onto the “Bible bus”. I’ve been learning from countless sources, Pastors, and my own daily devotions since then but none of those methods laid out God’s plan for us as clearly as this course does. I highly recommend signing up and fully committing yourself to His-Story, as taught by the Redemptive History course as early in your walk with Jesus as possible.”
“Redemptive History was a game changer for me. It ties together God’s redemptive plan throughout the Bible. It brought meaning and revelation to some books of the Bible I just didn’t understand. Genesis 3:15 baby!!!”
“I can not say enough amazing things about the Redemptive History course. The videos really help you to grasp the reading. I was not a fan of reading my Bible even though I had been in church for many years. This course made me truly fall in love with reading my Bible and understanding how to apply it to my life. It ties the Old and New Testament together in a way that helps you understand the entirety of scripture. It is designed in a way that whether you are a brand new to reading the Bible or someone who has gone to church for years that you will come out with a deeper understanding and love of the one who created you and paid that price on the cross.”
“When I first became a Christian, reading the Bible felt overwhelming and burdensome. I didn’t realize that God had a redemptive plan for humanity that unfolds from Genesis to Revelation. Concepts like the covenants were unfamiliar to me, and I struggled to understand why the prophets frequently spoke of judgment or why God appeared so angry and wrathful toward His people and the world. Everything changed when Steve Arsenault introduced me to Redemptive History through his insightful teaching. His guidance opened my eyes to how this plan has been unfolding since the fall of Adam and Eve. Understanding Redemptive History has given me a renewed sense of purpose; I now recognize that I am part of that divine plan, embraced as a member of God’s family. This newfound understanding propelled me into the life of the Church, where I actively learned about the love of Christ and embraced the covenant promises through the gospel and the teachings of Jesus and His apostles. I now see that the wrath depicted in the Old Testament has been appeased through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, offering me and the world the gift of eternal life. Through Redemptive History, I have come to embrace the merciful and abundant Ahava love of God.”
“Growing up, my family followed a 1-year Bible reading plan. We were in the Word daily, and I had easily read through the Bible a dozen times cover to cover with plenty memorized as well, before ever taking redemptive history. I “knew” the Bible without actually knowing it. This unlocked so much new understanding – so many new pieces fell into place – that I truly started to see how everything in scripture is one overarching story, that God had a plan for from the very beginning.”
“Redemptive History has been a game changer for me. Before the course I didn’t understand scripture and what it was referring to. But after taking Redemptive History I have gained an understanding of scripture and I can now see how interwoven the Bible is from Genesis to Revelation. I love the course so much I’ve taken it three times and will definitely be taking it again.”
“I loved redemptive history! Being a believer as someone who grew up in the church, I had a lot of preconceived notions and knew lots of separated bible stories. Redemptive history was exactly what I needed to provide context to the fragments of the Bible I knew. The Bible came alive to me when I learned more of God’s Nature and intentions shown in the whole narrative of scripture. Highly recommend this course!”
“With little to no understanding of the bible, I decided took the Redemptive History course to try and gain some insights on it. Impressively I came away with not only grasping the teachings, but learning the cadence of the Bible. This in turn provided me with much deeper insight into our amazing and awe inspiring Father and his unending grace and mercy.”
